Can you tell me more about the masters?
Tom: Can you tell me more about the masters?
Guru: Okay, let’s look at the masters.
Tom: Yes, I am looking.
Guru: Do they have many physical things?
Tom: Many of them have very few physical things.
Guru: So the places they live or work tend to look empty.
Tom: Very empty.
Guru: Do they have money?
Tom: Many of them have little or no money.
Guru: So they are not rich.
Tom: Yet they are rich in their hearts.
Guru: Do they have jobs?
Tom: Many of them do not have jobs.
Guru: Yet they do meaningful work.
Tom: Very meaningful work.
Guru: Do they have friends?
Tom: Many of them do not have friends.
Guru: So they tend not to socialize.
Tom: No socializing.
Guru: And they love to live in silence.
Tom: Silence is the language of the Divine.
Guru: Do they have families?
Tom: Many of them do not have families.
Guru: So they tend to live in solitude.
Tom: And they love to live alone.
Guru: Actually, they are not alone.
Tom: They are not?
Guru: They live with the Great Spirit.
Tom: So, they live alone with the Great Spirit.
Guru: That means they are not alone.
Tom: So, they live alone but they are not alone.
Guru: So overall, what do the masters have?
Tom: They have practically nothing.
Guru: Yes they have nothing, yet they live as though they have everything.
